The length and breadth of a rectangular field are in the ratio 3 : 2. If the area of the field is 3456 m2, then the cost of fencing the field at ₹3.50 per metre is:

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e Rs. 840.

Ratio 3:2 → sides 3x and 2x

Area 6x² = 3456 → x = 24

Sides = 72 m and 48 m

Perimeter = 2(72 + 48) = 240 m

Cost = 240 × 3.50 = ₹840
