Question 1 / 90

A closed cylindrical tank of height 280 cm and base radius 70 cm is to be made from a metal sheet. The required sheet for the same, in m2, is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 15.4.

Height (h) = 280 cm = 2.8 m

Radius (r) = 70 cm = 0.7 m

Total surface area = 2πr(r + h)

= 2 × (22/7) × 0.7 × (0.7 + 2.8) = 15.4 m2
