Explanation
The correct answer is option 4 i.e. Santhal Revolt
From June 30, 1855, through June 30, 1856, the Santhal Revolt occurred. Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, two leaders of the Santal rebels, gathered about 60,000 Santhals and proclaimed an uprising against the East India Company.A tribe called Santhals is mainly found in the state of Jharkhand. This was the country of India's first peasant uprising. The establishment of the Permanent Land Settlement in 1793 can be blamed for the uprising.
Reason of the rebellion-
- They were the settlers in Bihar's Rajmahal Hills who were farmers. British looked to them to increase their agricultural revenue.
- Santhals consented to destroy woods so they might engage in established agriculture. Many territories were designated as Damin-i-Koh or Santal Pargana in 1832.
- However, British exploitation gradually increased to the point where it gave birth to the Santhal Rebellion.
