If the total donation by A and B is Rs 600 more than of C, then what is the monthly salary (in Rs) of C?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 50000

Let the monthly salary of A, B and C be 100x, 100x, 100y.

Donation by A = 10% of 100x = 10x.

Donation by B = 7% of 100x = 7x

Donation by C = 9% of 100y = 9y.

10x - 7x = 900

3x = 900

x = 300

Total donation of A and B is 600 more than C.

10x + 7x = 9y + 600

17 × 300 = 9y + 600

9y = 5100 - 600

9y = 4500

y = 500.

Monthly salary of C = 100y

= 100 × 500 = 50000.
