The bar graph shows the distribution of marks obtained by students in examinations.

The total number of students obtaining less than 50 marks is what percent more than the total number of students obtaining 60 marks or more (correct to one decimal place).

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. 5.6%

Application

Total marks of the total number of students obtaining less than 50 marks = 45 + 78 + 110 + 142 = 375.

Now, the total marks of the number of students obtaining more than 60 marks = 120 + 100 + 80 + 55 = 355.

Percentage = (375 - 355)/355 × 100

= 5.63% = 5.6%
