Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 261

Application

From the bar graph, we can see that marks obtained between 50-60 by150 students and between 60-70 by 120 students.

So the total number of students equals 150 + 120 = 270.

According to the question, number of girls = 270 × (60/100) = 162.

Now, ranging 70-80 by 100 students and 80-90 by 80 students

So, total students = 100 + 80 = 180.

Girls = 180 × (55/100) = 99

So the total number of girls = 162 + 99 = 261.
