The sum of weights of A and B is 80 kg. 50% of A's weight is 56\frac{5}{6}times the weight of B. Find the dfference between their weights.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 20kg

Let the weight of A and B be 'a' and 'b'.

50% of a = 5/6 of b

a/b = 5/3.

5x + 3x = 80 kg

8x = 80 kg

x = 10 kg.

Difference between them = 5x - 3x = 2x

2x = 2 × 10 = 20 kg.
