The ‘Rath Yatra’ festival of Puri is celebrated as the sacred journey of which of the following Hindu deities?
Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: B
Explanation
The correct answer is option 2 i.e. Lord Jagannath.
Rath Yatra, held annually in Puri, Odisha, marks the ceremonial procession of Lord Jagannath along with his siblings, Balabhadra and Subhadra, from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple, symbolizing a divine visit to their aunt’s home. Devotees pull the elaborately decorated chariots through the streets, participating in this major Vaishnavite festival. Other deities, like Shiva or Vishnu in different forms, have their own festivals, but the Rath Yatra specifically honors Lord Jagannath.
