The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 8.

Average of 5 numbers = 333
So, the total sum of the 5 numbers is:

Sum = 333 × 5  =  1665

235 → as-is

2x5 → 200 + 10x + 5 = 205 + 10x

x35 → 100x + 30 + 5 = 100x + 35 

63x → 600 + 30 + x = 630 + x 

116 → as-is

Total = 235 + (205 + 10x) + (100x + 35) + (630 + x) + 116

⇒ 1221 + 111x = 1665

⇒ x = 1665 - 1221 = 444$\Rightarrow x = \frac{444}{111} = 4$

Now x=4, so the numbers are:

x + 1 = 5 ,  x + 3 = 7 , x + 8 = 12

Avg  =$\frac{5 + 7 + 12}{3} = \frac{24}{3} = 8$
