Directions: The following graph shows the production of milk in 4 states in 2010 and 2011.

Find the difference between the average production (in thousand tonnes) for all states in both years.

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 6.25.

We know that,

Average = Sum of observations/Number of observations

Now,

Average production for all states in 2010 = 30+25+50+554\frac{30 + 25 + 50 + 55}{4} = 40

Average production for all states in 2011 = 40+50+45+504\frac{40 + 50 + 45 + 50}{4} = 46.25

Hence,

The required difference = 46.25 - 40 = 6.25
