SSC CHSL 2024 PYQ — Question 56

SSC CHSL - 01 July 2024 - Shift 4 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q56

The surface area of a sphere is 2464 cm². Find its volume

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e.1149823\frac{2}{3}  cm3.

Given that

Surface area of a sphere = 2464 cm2

The surface area of the sphere = 4πR2

Volume of sphere = 43\frac{4}{3}πR3

According to the question

4πR2 = 2464

⇒ R2 = 616 × 7/22

Solving for R we get R = 14 cm

Now volume = 43\frac{4}{3}πR3 = 43\frac{4}{3}π × 14 × 14 × 14

Solving we get

Volume = 11498.67 cm3 =  1149823cm3\frac{2}{3}cm^3
