SSC CGL 2024 PYQ — Question 51

SSC CGL - 18 Sep 2024 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q51

What is the volume of a cone (in cubic units) with radius 3 units and slant height 323\sqrt2 units?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e.  9π\pi.

r = 3 units, l = 3√2 units

So, the height of the cone (h)=l2−r2=(32)2−32=18−9=9=3(h)=\sqrt{l^2-r^2}=\sqrt{(3\sqrt2)^2-3^2}=\sqrt{18-9}=\sqrt9=3 cm

Volume =13πr2h=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h = (1/3) × π × (3)2 × 3 = 9π cubic units
