What is the value of xy\frac{x}{y} if X−5YX+5Y=713\frac{X-5Y}{X+5Y}=\frac{7}{13}

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 503\frac{50}{3}.

Given that

 X−5YX+5Y=713\frac{X-5Y}{X+5Y}=\frac{7}{13}

⇒ 13X - 65Y = 7X + 35Y

⇒ 13X - 7X  = 65Y + 35Y 

⇒ 6X = 100Y

⇒ X/Y = 100/6 = 50/3
