The following table shows the production of printers by four plants of a company over the five years.

What is the difference between the average production of plant 1 and plant 2 during five years?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 1600.

The average of plant 1 in 5 years = (35 + 43 + 48 + 32 + 42)/5 = 40000

The average of plant 2 in 5 years = (25 + 44 + 39 + 40 + 44)/5 = 38400

the difference between the average production of plant 1 and plant 2  = 40000 - 38400 = 1600
