Two boys are standing on the opposite ends of a 900 metres long bridge. If they walk towards each other at the speed of 10 metres/minute and 8 metres/minute respectively, then in how much time will they meet each other?

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 50 minutes.

 

According to the question:

Relative speed = 10 + 8 = 18  meters per minute

Time = DistanceRelative speed=900 meters18 meters per minute=50 minutes\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Relative speed}} = \frac{900 \text{ meters}}{18 \text{ meters per minute}} = 50 \text{ minutes}

So, the two boys will meet after 50 minutes.
