SSC CGL 2018 PYQ — Question 68

SSC CGL Tier II Quant - 21/02/2018 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q68

Triangle PQR is inscribed in the circle whose radius is 14 cm. If PQ is the diameter of the circle and PR = 10 cm, then what is the area of the triangle PQR?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 30√19

In △PQR:

∠PRQ = 90°

By pythagoras theorm

RQ = √(784 - 100)

⇒ RQ = 6√19 cm

Hence,

Area of △PQR = 1/2 × 10 × 6√19 = 30√19 cm2
