SSC CGL Tier II Quant - 21/02/2018 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q67

PQR is a right angled triangle in which PQ = QR. If the hypotenuse of the triangle is 20 cm, then what is the area (in cm2) of the triangle PQR?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 100

In △PQR

let PQ = QR = x

x2 + x2 = 202

x = 10√2 cm

Hence,

Area of △PQR = 1/2 × 10√2 × 10√2 = 100 cm2
