Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The Correct answer is option 3 i.e. 250.

Given that

A person got 40 percent of the votes and lost by 50 votes

If no invalid votes in the election

then the winning candidate gets 60% votes

According to the question;

⇒ 60% - 40% = 50

⇒ 20% = 50

⇒ 100% = (50/20) × 100 = 250

Hence, the total number of votes is 250.
