Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The Correct answer is option 2 i.e. 3000, 2500.

Given that

In a town, there are 5,500 people who can vote in an election

Let's Initially, the number of males is 100x

the number of females in town is 100y

Then 100x + 100y = 5500

x + y = 55 ....(1

If the number of male voters increases by 11%,

and female voters increase by 20%.

now, the number of voters becomes 6330

then 111x + 120y = 6330 .....(2

After solving equations 1 and 2

⇒ 9x = 6600 - 6330 = 270

⇒ x = 30

⇒ put this value in equation 1

⇒ 30 + y = 55

⇒ y = 25

Hence, the initial number of male = 3000 and female voters = 2500
