The sum of two numbers is 1215 and their HCF is 81. If the numbers lie between 500 and 700, then the sum of the reciprocal of the numbers is?

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 5/1512

Since HCF of two numbers is 81

So, only two multiples of 81 that exist between 500 and 700 are 567 and 648.

Also their sum is 1215

Hence our all conditions are fulfilled.

According to question,

1/567 + 1/648

= (648 + 567)/367416

= 1215/367416

Going through options, we can conclude that 1215, when divided by 243 gives 5 as quotient.

So, after dividing 367416 by 243

We get, 1512

So, 5/1512 is our answer.
