Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 35 cm

Given:

The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 4 : 7 : 9.

If the sum of the shortest and the longest sides is 65 cm.

Calculations:

Let the sides of the triangle be 4x, 7x and 9x.

Sum of the shortest and the longest sides = 9x + 4x

⇒ 13x = 65

⇒ x = 5

Length of the third side = 7x

⇒ 7 × 5

⇒ 35 cm.
