Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The Correct answer is option 2 i.e. 2003.97.

At the beginning of the first year the population of a village = 2000

First-year increase of 0.2% = 2/1000 = 1/500 = 501/500

Second-year increase of 0.4% = 4/1000 = 1/250 = 251/250

Third-year decrease of 0.4% = 4/1000 = 1/250 = 249/250

After the third year the population of the village  = 2000 × 501500\frac{501}{500} × 251250\frac{251}{250} × 249250\frac{249}{250} = 2003.97
