SSC MTS - 19 July 2022 - Shift 3 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q67

The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is equal to the circumference of a circle. If each side of this equilateral triangle is 88cm long, then what will be the length of the diameter of the circle mentioned above?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e 84cm

Concept Used :

Perimeter of equilateral triangle = 3a

Circumference of circle = 2πr2\pi r

Given :

Side of equilateral triangle = 88 cm

Perimeter of equilateral triangle = Circumference of circle

Now, 3 × 88 = 2 × 22/7 × r

⇒ r = 84/2

⇒ r = 42.

Now, diameter = 2r = 2 × 42 = 84.

Hence the diameter of the circle is 84 cm.
