SSC CGL Tier II - 19 Jan 2026 - Shift 1 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q8

The height of a pyramid is 8 m, and the base of the pyramid is a square whose diagonal is 512\sqrt{512} m. Find the approximate volume of the pyramid.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 683 m3.

Diagonal of square base = √512 = 16√2 m

Each side of the square base = (16√2)/√2 = 16 m

Area of base = 162 = 256 m2

Height = 8 m

Volume of pyramid = (1/3) × Base area × Height = (1/3) × 256 × 8 = 2048/3 ≈ 683 m3
