The base of a right pyramid is an equilateral triangle with side of 10 cm, and its vertical height is 24 cm. Find the volume (in cm3) of the pyramid.

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 2 i.e. 2003200\sqrt{3} cm3.

Each side of base (Equilateral triangle) = 10 cm

Area of the base =34×102=253= \frac{\sqrt{3}}{4} \times 10^2 = 25\sqrt{3} cm2

Height = 24 cm

Volume of pyramid with triangular base = (1/3) × Base area × Height

= (1/3) × 25√ 3 × 24

= 200√3 cm3
