Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is option 3 i.e 4992.

Understanding Application

Total number of students = 60000

Let the total number of students is 100%.

Number of students in A = 18%

Number of students failed in A = 24% of number of students enrolled in A.

Number of students in C = 20%

Number of students failed in C = 20% of the number of students enrolled in A

Total number of students in A = (18/100) x 60000 = 10800

Total number of students failed in A = (24/100) x 10800 = 2592

Total number of students in C = (20/100) x 60000 = 12000

Total number of students failed in C = (20/100) x 12000 = 2400

Total number of students failed in A and B = 2592 + 2400 = 4992
