Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: C

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 1 i.e. 34 : 41

Application

Let seven years ago, the age of A be 4x

So, seven years ago, the age of B be 5x.

Seven years hence, the age of A = 4x+14

So, seven years hence, the age of B = 5x+14

According to the question,

(4x + 14)/(5x + 14) = (5/6)

24x + 84 = 25x + 70

x = 14

Five years hence, the age of A = 4x+12 =

4(14) +12 = 68

So, Five years hence ,age of B = 5x +12=

5(14) + 12 = 82

The ratio of their ages 5 years from now = 68 : 82 = 34 : 41
