Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. Rs.1,735.

Profit = SP - CP

Loss = CP - SP

According to the given question,

(1498 - CP) = 125100125 \over 100(CP - 1300)

⇒ 4(1498 - CP) = 5(CP - 1300)

⇒ 5992 - 4CP = 5CP - 6500

⇒ 9CP = 12492

⇒ CP = 1388

The cost price of the painting is Rs.1388.

SP=CP×(100+P)100SP = CP \times {{(100 + P)}\over 100}

⇒ SP=1388×(100+25)100SP = 1388 \times {{(100 + 25)}\over 100}

⇒ SP=1388×125100SP = 1388 \times {125 \over 100}

⇒ SP = 1735

Hence the selling price of the painting is Rs.1,735.
