In the following figure, the length of arc AB is equal to five times of the radius r of the circle. Find the area of sector AOB?

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 2.5r2.

Let the radius of the given circle be r.

Given that, length of arc AB, L = 5r

According to the given question,

Area of sector AOB = ½ × r × L

⇒ ½ × r × 5r = 2.5r2
