Let x be the least number which when divided by 15, 18, 20 and 27, the remainder in each case is 10 and x is a multiple of 31. What least number should be added to x to make it a perfect square ?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 ie 39.

x = k LCM(16, 18, 20, 27) + 10

x = 540k + 10

k = 1, x = 550

k = 2, x = 1090

k = 3, x = 1630

k = 4, x = 2170

Minimum number need to be added to 2170

= 39 (to make it a perfect square)
