SSC CGL 2023 PYQ — Question 61

SSC CGL - 24 July 2023 - Shift 2 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q61

In triangle ABC, D is the mid-point of BC and G is the centroid. If GD = 10 cm, then the length of AD is:

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 30 cm.

In a triangle, the centroid divides the median in a ratio of 2 : 1.

Let GD = 2x and DG = x

GD = 10 cm

So, 2x = 2 × 10 = 20 cm

x = 10 cm

AD = AG + DG

AD = 20 cm + 10 cm

AD = 30 cm
