In the following question, a sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best expresses the same sentence in Indirect/Direct speech.

They said to me, "We will help your team if you sign on this document."

  1. As the reporting verb is in the past tense there will be a change in the tense of the reported speech.
  2. Reporting verb will remain the same.
