Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 80000

Explanation:

Let the number of voters enrolled on the voters list be 100x.

According to the given question,

Votes casted = 85% of 100x = 85x

Number of valid votes = 90% of 85x = 76.5x

Since the votes obtained by winner is 55%

So the votes obtained by losing candidate = 45%

Now, difference = 10%

Then, 10% of 76.5x = 6120

⇒ 10100×76.5x{10 \over 100} \times 76.5 x = 6120

⇒ x = 800

Now, 100x = 80000

Hence the required answer is 80000.
