If cos A = 1517{15{} \over 17}, 0 < A < 90°, then the value of Cot(90° - A) is:

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e.  815{ {8} \over 15}

⇒ cos A = 1517{15{} \over 17}

⇒ Base = 15 units and Hypotenuse =  17 units

Now using Pythagoras theorem, we get

⇒ 172 = 152 + P2

⇒ P = 8

According to the question;

⇒ cot(90 - A) = tan A

⇒ tan A = Perpendicular/Base

⇒ tan A = 8/15
