As per the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme launched in January 2023, the Union Ministry of Tourism selected 30 cities across 15 states to be developed as sustainable and responsible destinations .
These destinations—like Dwarka, Dholavira, Colva, Porvorim, Nalanda, Gaya, and several in the Northeast including Kokrajhar and Jorhat—are being upgraded through holistic infrastructure, environment-friendly practices, local engagement, and promotion of cultural and natural heritage.
