Find the total surface area of a container in cylindrical shape whose diameter is 14 cm and height is 25 cm. [Use π = 22/7]

The correct answer is option 3 i.e. 1408 cm2

Given:

Diameter of cylinder = 14 cm

Height = 25 cm

Concept Used:

Tota surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r+h)2 \pi r(r + h)    ....(i)

Explanation: 

Since we know that diameter = 14 cm

Then, radius of cylinder = 14/2 = 7 cm

From equation (i), we get

TSA = 2 × 22/7 × 7(7 + 25)

⇒ TSA = 44 × 32

⇒ TSA = 1408

Hence the surface area of the given container is 1408 cm2.
