SSC CPO 2020 PYQ — Question 138

SSC CPO - 25 Nov 2020 - Shift 2 • Quantitative Aptitude • Q138

Directions: The fasting blood sugar level (F) and the postprandial blood sugar level (PP) of a patient were monitored for four weeks W1, W2, W3, W4, and the reading ( in mg/d1) for four weeks were as follows:

F/PP: 170/220, 150/180, 120/150, 90/120

These have been presented through a bar graph. The normal range is considered to be :

F/PP : 70 - 100/100 - 130.

During which week was the fasting blood sugar level of the patient approximately 115.4% above the upper limit of normal PP blood sugar level?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. W2.

Given that:

Normal range of Fasting blood sugar level (F) = 70 - 100

Normal range of Postprandial blood sugar level (PP) = 100 - 130

Now, according to the question

During which week was the fasting blood sugar level of the patient approximately 115.4% above the upper limit of normal PP blood sugar level

⇒ 115.4% ~ 115%

Upper limit = 130

⇒ 130 × 115% = 149.5

⇒ 149.5 is smaller than 150

Hence,

In W2 the fasting blood sugar level (F) is approximately 115.4% of the upper limit of normal PP blood sugar.
