Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: C
Explanation
The correct answer is option 3 i.e. Fifth.
As of March 2023, while being the captain of the Indian men's soccer team, Sunil Chhetri had already established himself as the all-time leading scorer for India and one of the top international goalscorers. However, the claim that he became the highest goal scorer in the fifth international football appearances in March 2023 is factually incorrect. By March 2023, Chhetri had played significantly more than five international matches and had already scored a substantial number of goals, placing him high on the list of active international goalscorers. As of March 2025, he holds the record for the most international goals scored by an Indian and ranks among the top five active male international goalscorers globally with 95 goals in 153 appearances.
