Concept

Understanding

Application

Time of rest per hour is equal to the difference in average speed divided by the speed without stoppage.

Without stoppage average speed = 72 km/h

With stoppages average speed = 60 km/h

Required time = [(72 - 60)/72] × 60 = 720/72 = 10

So, The train stops on an average 10 minute/hour
