Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: B

Explanation

The correct answer is option 2 i.e. 2,240

Given:

sum = Rs. 12,992

the ratio of the shares of A and C = 4 : 15

the ratio of the shares of A and B = 2 : 5

Explanation:

According to the given question,

C : A = 15 : 4

A : B = 2 : 5

⇒ C : A : B = 15 : 4 : 10

Now, let the shares of C, A and B be 15x, 4x and 10x respectively.

So, share of B = 1299229x×10x{12992 \over 29x} \times 10x = 4480

And share of C = 1299229x×15x{12992 \over 29x} \times 15x = 6720

Now the required difference = 6720 - 4480 = 2240.

Hence the required answer is 2240.
