 A sum of ₹7500 amounts to ₹11000 in 513\frac{1}{3} years at a certain rate percent per annum simple interest. The same sum will amount to ₹x in 223\frac{2}{3} years at the same rate of simple interest. The value of x is:

Explanation

The correct answer is Option 3 i.e. ₹9250.

SI in 513=1635\frac{1}{3} = \frac{16}{3} years

SI = 11000 − 7500 = ₹3500

3500=7500×R×16300⇒3500=400R3500 = \frac{7500 \times R \times 16}{300} \Rightarrow 3500 = 400R

R = 8.75%

Now for 223=832\frac{2}{3} = \frac{8}{3}  years

SI = 7500×8.75×8300=₹1750\frac{7500 \times 8.75 \times 8}{300} = ₹1750

Amount = 7500 + 1750 = ₹9250​
