A man goes to Ahmedabad from Kolkata at a speed of 9km/hr and returns to Kolkata at speed of 18km/hr, through same route. What is his average speed (in km/hr) of the entire journey?

The correct answer is Option 4 i.e. 12.

Average Speed (when distance is same both ways):

Average Speed = 2ab/(a+b)

Where, a = 9 km/h (going) and b=18 km/h (returning)

⇒2×9×189+18=32427=12\Rightarrow \frac{2 \times 9 \times 18}{9 + 18} = \frac{324}{27} = 12​ km/hr
