A batsman scores 92 runs in the 15th inning and thus increases his average by 4. What is his average after the 15th inning?

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 36

Application

Let the average score till 15th inning = x

So

⇒ (14x + 92)/15 = x + 4

⇒ 14x + 92 = 15x + 60

⇒ x = 92 - 60

⇒ x = 32

Average after 15th = 32 + 4

= 36
