A, B and C started a business by investing Rs13,750, Rs.16,250, and Rs. 18,750, respectively. If B's share in the profit earned by them is Rs5,200, What is the total profit ( in Rs) earned by them together?

Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: A

Explanation

The correct answer is option 1 i.e. 15,600

Investment of A = Rs. 13,750

Investment of B = Rs. 16,250

Investment of C = Rs. 18,750

B's share in profit = Rs. 5200

The ratio of investment of A : B : C = 13750 : 16250 : 18750

A : B : C = 11 : 13 : 15

The ratio of their profit will be the same as the ratio of their investment.

Let the profit of A, B, and C be 11x, 13x, and 15x respectively.

B's share = 5200

13x = 5200

x = 5200/13 = 400

Total profit = 11x + 13x + 15x = 39x

Total profit = Rs. (39 × 400) = Rs. 15,600
