A can complete the work in 9 days, so A's work rate is:

A’s work rate = 1/9

B can complete the work in 15 days, so B's work rate is:

B’s work rate = 1/15

When A and B work together = 1/9 + 1/15 = 5+345\frac{5+3}{45} = 845\frac{8}{45}

Hence, time taken by A and B together = 1 ÷ 8/45 = 45/8 = 558\frac{5}{8} days
