Show answer & explanation

Correct answer: D

Explanation

The correct answer is option 4 i.e. 14.

10 years ago,

The ratio of the man and his son = 5  : 1

After 2 years, twice his age will be equal to 4 times his son's age

So, The ratio of the man and his son = 4 : 2 = 8 : 4

8 - 5 = 12 years

3 = 12 years

1 = 4 years

So, the present age of son = 4 × 4 - 2 = 16 - 2 = 14 years
