Wildlife Week in India is celebrated annually in the month of October.
Specifically, it is observed from October 2nd to October 8th every year. This initiative was conceptualized in 1952 by the Indian Board of Wildlife with the primary goal of raising awareness about the protection and conservation of India's diverse flora and fauna.
During this week, various activities like workshops, awareness campaigns, nature walks, and competitions are organized across the country by government bodies, NGOs, and educational institutions. The aim is to sensitize people of all ages about the importance of wildlife in maintaining ecological balance and to encourage collective action for its preservation.
