During the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the Defence Minister of India was V.K. Krishna Menon. A close associate of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Menon played a key role in shaping India's defence policies at the time. However, he faced severe criticism for the Indian Army's lack of preparedness and poor handling of military operations during the war against China. Following the defeat, intense public and political pressure led to his resignation in November 1962, shortly after the conflict ended.
