Who visits the forest in the Tamil epic Silappadikaram?
Show answer & explanation
Correct answer: C
Explanation
The correct answer is option 3 i.e. Senguttuvan.
In the Tamil epic Silappadikaram, Senguttuvan, the Chera King and brother of the author Ilango Adigal, visits the forest near the Periyar River. During this visit, forest dwellers inform him about a woman (Kannagi) who ascended to heaven under a Venkai tree. This event inspires Senguttuvan to build a temple for Kannagi (Goddess Pattini) and embark on a northern expedition to bring a stone from the Himalayas to carve her idol.
