SSC Selection Post 2022 PYQ — Question 28

The correct answer is option 2 i.e.Nizam ul-Mulk Junaidi .

The Wazir (chief minister) of Sultan Iltutmish was Nizamul Mulk Junaidi. Appointed during the early years of Iltutmish's reign, Junaidi was a capable and experienced administrator. However, his ambitions led to tensions with the Sultan. He eventually fell out of favor due to suspicions of disloyalty and conspiracies against the throne. Following his dismissal, Iltutmish relied on other loyal nobles and bureaucrats to consolidate his power and establish administrative stability. The period of Iltutmish’s rule saw the strengthening of the Delhi Sultanate's central administration, and while Junaidi initially contributed to this, his later actions led to his downfall.
